Governor supports students’ plea for vaccination

Governor Dr. Tamilisai Soundararajan on Wednesday supported the students’ request to get vaccinated to attend the offline classes in the campuses.

Answering a host of queries during her live interaction, “Ask the Chancellor” on twitter, with the students of the universities and colleges, the Governor was supporting a student’s suggestion that students need to get vaccinated to attend the physical classes and examinations offline.

“Definitely students should be vaccinated. I am happy about your awareness. Starting the physical classes will be decided after assessing the pandemic conditions,” she replied to a query.

Most of the students were asking for the early conduct of examinations for their promotion to the next semesters and so as to not lag behind the schedule.

Many MBBS students of the Kaloji Narayana Rao University of Health Sciences (KNRUHS), Warangal, were requesting for the early conduct of examinations for the 2nd year and 3rd year and added that they were lagging behind by 5 months for their next year classes.

Dr. Tamilisai Soundararajan, who is also the Chancellor of the State universities, assured them that she would take up the issue with the Vice-Chancellor of the KNRUHS.

Some of the medical students were requesting for the postponement of entrance examinations being conducted by the AIIMS, while some other were asking for the early conduct of the NEET exam for MDS aspirants. Some Physiotherapy students requested for doing away with the final examinations and give them degrees.

One of the participants in the virtual interaction urged the Governor to look into the problems plaguing the Osmania University for which the Governor assured to discuss with the concerned.

The engineering students of the JNTU were also asking about the examinations, while some expressed apprehensions over conducting of examinations offline due to the prevailing ‘risky’ conditions.

The Governor said that the live interaction with the students through the twitter was aimed at understanding the issues being faced by the students, give them morale booster, and take up their issues with the officials concerned.
