Governor recalls glorious sacrifices of police

Governor of Andhra Pradesh and Telangana E.S.L. Narasimhan participating as Chief Guest at the Police Commemoration Day on Sunday said that we talk of PPP mode in all sectors, but it is Police Public Participation that is more necessary in the society today.

The Governor said October 21, every year is observed as the Police Commemoration day as it is the day of remembrance of those great and selfless souls who laid down their lives so that we can live in peace.

Day of remembrance of so many valiant police personnel who sacrificed their lives today leaving a great void in their families for our better tomorrow, said the Governor. Let us recall their glorious sacrifices and pledge ourselves to take forward their spirit and ideals, their sacrifice their invaluable lives, said the Governor.

The Governor said police personnel have laid down their lives to make their motherland safe and secure and peace prevails in the society. He said 414 police personnel have sacrificed their lives including 2 from Telangana in the previous year.

The Governor called upon the people to understand the valour of a policeman who does not celebrate festivals like Dasara, Diwali, Ganesh Chaturthi, as he is on the streets on those days.

The Governor said it is important to realise that they are also human beings like us and it is necessary for us to make their conditions safe, secure and comfortable. The society owes a great debt to these brave policemen and it is time for people to recognise the noble service of policemen and give their fitting share and due, said the Governor.

The Governor called upon the policemen to rededicate themselves in the service of the society, drawing upon the inspiration from their predecessors to fight against criminal and divisive forces with renewed vigour and continue to maintain the peaceful atmosphere.

He said the society is at cross roads now with anti national elements, terrorists and others who are trying to dismember the country and it is there that these policemen stand against destruction of peace and tranquillity. He said the policemen are the wall of peace, wall of courage, wall of valour and wall of sacrifice. Unity and integrity is under threat and if today the country is in one piece, we owe a great debt to them and there is no compensation to a human life said the Governor.
