Google has started deducting 10 per cent of the salary for its employees who chose to work from home it is reported. There is a buzz in the IT employees that soon all other IT companies might do the same.

Now the employees can opt for working from home, but they will get a salary of 10 percent less than that of the other employees who come to the office.

Some employees feel that it is Ok as they are staying at home and avoiding the traffic snarls apart from saving petrol. People who have to travel by train are very happy with the concept of work from home. They can save 3 hours of time on a daily basis.

For them, the 10 percent cut is not an issue.

The ladies are for the work from the home concept as they can do the cooking and other works on their own at home along with the office wor. They can take care of the children also.

But some other employees are rushing back to the office to avoid this 10 percent salary cut it is reported.

“Our compensation packages have always been determined by location, and we always pay at the top of the local market based on where an employee works from,” a Google spokesperson said, adding that pay will differ from city to city and state to state stated one of the HR people from the company.

An employee living in Stamford, Connecticut – an hour from New York City by train – would be paid 15% less if she worked from home, while a colleague from the same office living in New York City would see no cut from working from home. Screenshots showed 5% and 10% differences in the Seattle, Boston and San Francisco areas.
