Therefore, he said a target of 30 lakh members across the State has been set with the aim of having at least 100 members in each of nearly 34,000 polling booths. For the first time in the country, he said that the Congress members would get an accidental insurance cover of Rs 2 lakh and an agreement with the New India Assurance company has already been signed for this.

He said that the PCC President himself was reviewing the program at the field level on a weekly basis. Observers have been appointed at the Assembly and Parliament constituency level to carry out the membership drive in an efficient and transparent manner. He said leaders at all levels in the district must get involved in the membership drive. He said that the TPCC has set a target of two lakh members for each parliamentary constituency, 30,000 for each assembly constituency and one hundred for each polling booth.
