It looks like it will be win-win situation for TRS and TDP in the next elections in 2019. Both Chandrababu and Chandrasekhar Rao will be a happy lot as the will have more seats for giving to the disgruntled and jumping jacks in the party.
With extra seats in the kitty both the Chandras can satisfy the people who could not be rewarded due to various reasons. Now they will get the Assembly seats to contest.
If the latest development is true, Assembly Seats in AP would increase from 175 to 225 and in Telangana from 119 to 153.
When CMs of Telugu States had earlier sought an increase of Assembly Segments citing the provisions of AP Reorganisation Act 2014, PM Modi questioned what’s the hurry as it will happen anyhow in 2026.
At one point, Telugu CMs lost the hope completely. Twist came in the form of BJP’s need for an increase of Assembly Seats in poll-bound Jharkhand. The Saffron Party included both AP and Telangana to avoid criticism.
It is learnt that the Pm Modi who behaved in a indifferent manner with the KCR and babu had later softened his stand after the results of Gujarat elections. He thought that it was right to have friends like KCR and Babu as they are strong in their regions especially the TRS chief.
Now they need Jharkhand and to avoid criticism from other political parties, they have added TS and AP for the increase of Assembly seats.
