The middle order movie Shatamanam Bhavati for Sankranthi has hit the screens in USA and people liked it. Starring Sharwanand and Anupama Parameswaran, this film is produced by Dil Raju. It is like a movie between two big hits and yet has the stamina to stand on its own.
Shatamanam Bhavati is set in the backdrop of a small village called Atreyapuram. Raju garu(Prakash Raj) lives a peaceful life along with his wife(Jayasudha) and grandson Raju(Sharwanand). The only thing which bothers him is the fact that his sons and daughter, who live abroad dont bother about him.
It is like they ignore the parents.Upset by this, he makes a clever plan calling back his entire family during the Sankranthi festival. Things move on a happy note as one of his granddaughter, Nithya(Anupama Parameswan) falls in love with Raju. The twist in the tale arises when Raju garu’s wife finds out about her husband’s plan and gets upset.
What happens next and who wins the race and who loses is the rest of the movie. It is a good attempt from Dilraju whipping up the passions of the people.Bringing the families together. Especially teaching the children to look after their family and stay with the family.
The family drama looks quite natural and every character is designed as one among us. Slow and steady hero Sharwanand plays a very lovable role and impresses with his subtle performance.
Anupama Parameswaran gave a striking performance. Her pairing with Sharwa and the couple’s chemistry looks quite pleasing. As expected, the hit pair of Prakash Raj and Jayasudha carry off their roles with aplomb. Their experience and screen presence brings a lot of depth to the strong emotions that are conveyed in the film.
Senior Naresh gets yet another interesting role and is impressive in his character. The climax is also a good asset to the film. The family values have been highlighted in a good fashion by the director. DilRaju has made no mistake in producing this movie.
Music by Mickey J Meyer is superb as all the songs have been shot wonderfully. Camerawork needs a special mention as the visuals are stunning . Director Satish, has done a good job with the film.
The film is for the family audience. Shatamanam Bhavati is a good family entertainer which showcases the various phases of life that parents go through when their loved ones stay away from them. .
