M. Mahender Reddy, DGP of Telangana State while on a tour at Kandlakoya interacting with media today said, interstate borders are closed except for the permitted vehicular traffic. We have been successful in curtaining vehicular traffic between places during the lockdown.

People must be partners in police efforts for common good, Mr. M. Mahender Reddy, DGP said

Police are working very hard in different shifts, day and night and ensuring the strict implementation of lockdown rules, said Mr. Reddy

DGP Reddy interacted with the Police and took stock of the situation at the ground level.

VC Sajjanar, IPS., who accompanied the DGP to Kandlakoya, later toured Suchitra and Kompally. Talking to the media he said barring a few stray incidents of violations the sixteen days of lockdown passed off very peacefully.

People are voluntarily observing lockdown with their self imposed restrictions and controls which is a really good thing this time. No amount of policing will work without the co-operation of the people, he said.

5000 police personnel are deployed to ensure that Lockdown is implemented strictly, informed Mr. Sajjanar, IPS.

The cases are on the decline and we must continue to carry forward the remaining days of lockdown in our own interest, Mr. Sajjanar said.

Now vaccines are also available and are being given. People must volunteer to take vaccines. They shouldn’t believe rumours about them. Vaccines are safe. They are the only weapons we have in the fight against the dreaded virus. He urged people to go and get vaccinated without any hesitation.
