Getting married is not easy these days. Yes in earlier times the girls had a problem in getting married, but now the scene has reversed and here you have to fulfill all whims and fancies for the girls family to agree with you for marriage.
When it comes to other castes there is some choice. But if the marriage is between Brahmin families it is a great difficulty. Here every thing has to match and the guru of the families must approve it and the stars must match each other. Otherwise they may call it quits in the end as the stars are not matching.
The marriage brokers or the match making shops are making a fast buck in the process. Even the caterers are making money in the form of publishing books with match making addresses and contacts. The brokers are taking Rs 10000 as fee for a successful alliance.
Vaishnavi caterers from Hyderabad have already done this. They have published books with contacts of boys and girls. Kalyana Kalpataruvu is another NGO from Vijayanagar Colony who are helping the Brahmins to get married with the right matches. There are marriage bureaus in Temples also. Rs 300 for registration is charged.
But the girls are in great demand these days. The parents from the girls side are demanding for boys with not less than a salary of Rs 50000 per month. They ask if you have a 4 wheeler, some of them are demanding for a own house, bank balance and finally they are happy if there are no parents from the boys side.
In the early time the demands were from the boys side for a vehicle, house and huge sum of money and now scene has reversed and it is dictation from the girls side. Times are not far away where the girls might demand for Kanyasulkam meaning you must pay the girl for getting married.
Some parents are putting a condition that they will not allow the girl to travel abroad and she should be within the vicinity of their house so on and so forth.
So the days are very close where the boy must pay the girl and get married.
