Senior southern actress Gautami has parted ways with Tamil superstar Kamal Haasan after living together for 13 years. The actress herself has confirmed this news on her blog. Kamal had relationships with many stars like Jayasudha, Simaran and others , He was married to Saarika.
Gautami recently made headlines after she met Prime Minister Narendra Modi. The actress is now back in news, but this time for a sad reason. She wrote a blogpost titled “Life and decisions” on November 1 2016, in which she confirmed the news of her split from Kamal Haasan. She also revealed the reason for the split.
Gautami was married to businessman Sandeep Bhatia in 1998 with whom she has a daughter named Subbalakshmi born in 1999. She divorced Sandeep in 1999. Since 2005, she and actor Kamal Haasan have been in a live-in relationship. The couple, who met on the sets of Apoorva Sagodharargal in 1989, refused to marry each other, as they did not have faith in marriage.
In the blog, the actress says that their paths were irreversibly diverged and she had been struggling to compromise with things for the last two years. The news about the separation is heartbreaking for her. She adds that making the news public is not act of seeking sympathy or blaming the actor.
She said ‘’It is heartbreaking for me to have to say today that I and Mr. Haasan are no longer together. After almost 13 years together, it has been one of the most devastating decisions that I have ever had to make in my life. It is never easy for anyone in a committed relationship to realise that their paths have irreversibly diverged and that the only choices in front of them are to either compromise with their dreams for life or to accept the truth of their solitude and move ahead. It has taken me a very long time, a couple of years at the very least, to accept this heartbreaking truth and come to this decision.”
