Like ever year Ganesh Chaturhti is under scanner both from the Government and also the organisers side. The Government wants idols to be immersed at Indira park tank to stop pollution in Hussain sagar. They also wanted the height of idols to be reduced and that clay should be used for making the Ganesh idols.

But the Gahesh Utsav Samith is adamant. They announced that  Hussainsagar will be the prime immersion site this year too and the shobha yatra will continue. The government should not direct devotees where to immerse the idols. It is the pandal management who are to decide the immersion sites, said  members of the Bhagyanagar Ganesh Utsav samiti.

General Secretary of Bhagyanagar Ganesh Utsav Samiti, Dr. Bhagavanth Rao, said, “Police department has wrongly given the height of metro pillars at various sites.

The government has been insisting on idols being below 15 feet high due to height and pollution issues. The samiti asked why the government should interfere with the fundamental right of the citizens? Even the High Court did not restrict and instead asked the government to make arrangement for the immersion.

The Government on the other hand is trying to call for a meeting between the police, Ganesh Utsav Samithi and other leaders to come up with a solution for the coming Ganesh Navrathri and also the immersion process apart from the proposed Shoba yatra of Ganesh Nimajjan which continues for about 48   hours in Hyderabad city.
