Mahatma Gandhi, the Father of the Nation, was the symbol of the Independence Movement. His life was a movement. Gandhi was a person who had a complete understanding of the system, the style of governance and the attitude of the rulers. After studying in England and working as a lawyer in South Africa, he has taken up many non-violent protests against British racism in his early days.

Gandhiji was a great person who deeply believed in peace and practiced non-violence as a symbol of mental strength, then returned to the country and organized the people of the country as weapons of truth and non-violence and led the Independence Movement. He fulfilled the burning desire for freedom for almost two centuries. The great Gandhiji breathed his last while wishing for unity among the people of all sections, religions and castes.

The life story of Mahatma Gandhi, who died in 1948, was filmed in English in 1982 and seen by 350 million people worldwide. Celebrities who have seen Gandhi’s biopic have praised Gandhiji as one of the great men who appeared on this earth in the 20th century. Mahatma Gandhi prophesied truth-non-violence became the inspiration for freedom struggles in many countries. Gandhi’s theories were the source of Martin Luther King’s struggle for rights in America.

Also, taking inspiration from Mahatma Gandhi, today’s Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao and then leader of the movement, united everyone in the Telangana movement and realized the state without any unwanted and unsocial incidents.

Gandhi’s film, which is being screened across the state, will be an inspiration to future generations. It creates a sense of unity among all. Even though it has been 40 years since the release of the film, Gandhi is a film that evokes the ideal aspirations of today’s society.
