Petrol diesel prices come down finally After 16 days the petrol and diesel prices were cut today across the country after a steep hike which had pushed retail fuel prices to all-time highs. Rates of non-branded petrol was cut by 7 paise per litre in the national capital while diesel became cheaper by 5 paise. Yesterday they were reduced and then reversed immediately back. At that point in time, the effect was just one paisa.

But now they have been reduced by 7paisa and 5 paise respectively.

After today’s revision, non-branded petrol costs, Rs 77.83 in Delhi, Rs 80.47 in Kolkata, Rs 85.65 in Mumbai and Rs 80.80 in Chennai, according to data available on the Indian Oil website. At the same time, diesel was retailing at Rs 68.75 in Delhi, Rs 71.30 in Kolkata, Rs 73.20 in Mumbai and Rs 72.58 in Chennai.

The BJP government is being ridiculed by all sections of the society for not able to get the prices of fuels down. The Government is blaming the crude prices at international level. Kerala Government has taken steps and has brought down the rates at their level since 2 days.

It is possible for the other local governments also to bring down the petrol prices.
