Eminent French writer Patrick Deville, who specialized in writing non-fiction novels based on real personalities, places, and events, is all set to explore India for his next novel in the genre.
He is currently in India on his second visit and is exploring the personalities and places that inspire him to write his next non-fiction novel.
Delivering an online talk, as the resource person, on the theme of “Contemporary works on non-fiction in France,” organized by the Dept of French and Francophone Studies, Mr. Deville stated that he was writing novels based on real life personalities, events, and places and are non-fictional.
“I travel to write. I do not create characters, events, or places in my novels and all of the novels are non-fictional,” he said.
Mr. Deville, a globe trotter, had travelled extensively from the East to the West and his earlier writings were based on his travel experiences in Latin America, Middle East, and other places across the globe.
Since his first book publication in 1987, he has been travelling and writing. He has published a dozen non-fiction novels in French and is planning to write more in the unique genre that blends the writing styles like historical novels, biographies, and autobiographies.
