Minister for Municipal Administration KT Rama Rao took stock of the situation where free water is already being distributed form December 5. From 2021 the promise made by KCR will be implemented. 20000 litres of water is free and the next usage will be billed from December for which the bill be given in January.
KTR the Minister reviewed the scheme and its implementation with the CS and other water board officials. The water consumption has been growing and the water board has been keeping up with the demand.
Already strategy is being planned for the distribution of water in the coming summer. Since there were good rains in the recent times there should be no water issue in the coming summer.
KTR instructed the HMWSSB officials that all the eligible house holds must get the free water. It is being assessed that most of the Indvidual houses must get free water and for the apartment individuals having water tap will get 20000 litres water free.
But the issue is that majority of water meters don’t work properly in the city. Some of them don’t have water meters at all. So in these cases it will be very difficult for the officials to decide on the free water scheme.
