All India Services, Central Civil Services, & Military Engineer Services Officers Turn Cooks, Salespersons & Tiny Businessmen, for a Day The All India Services, Central, Civil Services & Military Engineer Services Officers, undergoing Foundation Courses (FCs) at Dr MCR HRD Institute, organized “FETE-LA Fiesta”, a Food & Fun Festival, with energy and fervour. The excitement among Officer Trainees was at its peak and aura of cheer and gaiety pervaded the air around.

Sri Benhur Mahesh Dutt Ekka, IAS, DG of the Institute & Principal Secretary to Govt, who inaugurated the event by releasing colourful balloons in the air, said that mere academic inputs are not enough for learning. “Keeping this in mind, Dr MCR HRD Institute uses an innovative fusion of Academic, Co-Curricular, and Extra-curricular activities in order to fully achieve cherished goals of training”, said Sri Benhur Ekka, IAS, and added that FETE is one of the potent tools in giving a boost to the learning trajectory of the Officer Trainees.

It was a pleasant surprise for the invities, their family and friends, to see the Officer Trainees dishing out such mouth-watering delicacies as “Bihari SattuKaParantha”, “ChattisgarhiDehatiBada”, etc from Eastern Region, “IndoriPoha”, “PuranPoli”, etc. fromWestern Region, “Lassi”, “Moong Dal Halwa”, etc. from ”Northern Region, and “Chettinad Chicken Curry”, “Idiyappam”, etc. from Southern Region, and put them on sale. A few Officer Trainees turned hard-core salespersons to attract customers and to serve them with a smile. It was an once-in-a-lifetime opportunity for the invitees to relish an array of dishes, from across the country, under one roof. Apart from the food items, the event had many exciting games to keep the guests engaged and entertained. The invitees visited these stalls too and sportingly tried their hand at all the games on display.

“The event was a platform for the Officer Trainees to prove that they are capable of getting out of their comfort zones and conceptualizing business projects and successfully executing them, with a professional touch. They succeeded in generating decent profits, which will be donated to an NGO”, said Smt Anita Rajendra, IAS, CD, Spl. FC 2022.

“The event was greatly instrumental in enriching our managerial and entrepreneurial acumen, which is one of the pre-requisites for our professional success. “, said,Mr. DK Patel, IFS. “Many of us have background in engineering, but the ‘FETE ‘ provided a first-of-its-kind hands-on experience to us in managing business enterprises. This is something that no textbook can teach you,” statedMr SC Mohan Rao, IDSE. “The Officer Trainees displayed and deepened the most important quality, that is, esprit de corps, in making this event a grand success”, opined Mr. PG Singh, IRPS. “The event gave us an opportunity to let our hair down and have some fun with our batchmates”, observed Mr MudamAnirudh, IRPS.
