A review meeting has been convened by the Telangana State Food Commission at 2nd floor, Swarnajayanthi complex, Ameerpet, Hyderabad, where the District Welfare Officers (DWOs) of almost all the districts have attended the meeting.

The meeting was chaired by the Chairman, Sri K. Thirmal Reddy and the other Members – Sri Voraganti Anand, Sri Banoth Sangulal, Sri Kontham Goverdhan Reddy, Smt. Rangineni Sharada and Smt. Mulukuntla Bharathi of the Telangana State Food Commission and the Member Secretary Sri P. Kiran Kumar along with the Assistant Director, Women Development and Family Welfare Department, Joint Director of ICDS and the Regional Joint Director of Hyderabad and Warangal were present.

The Chairman Sri K. Thirmal Reddy impressed and focused upon the participants to scrupulously follow the guidelines and instructions issued under National Food Security Act, 2013 and vehemently instructed and requested all the participants/DWOs to serve the food to the beneficiaries in the Anganwadi Centres and also requested to conduct convergence meetings among the officials at block/mandal /district level and also to set up vigilance committees and internal grievance redressal system, social audit and food security measures and also to invite NGOs and other social organizations in this mission.

The Commission also focused on the lapses in Anganwadi centres like providing nutritional food to pregnant women and lactating mothers and babies, drinking water and sanitation in hygienic condition and also to set up boards/Menu/ complaint boxes in Anganwadi Centres and at last, advised all the participants for proper implementation of the Food Security Act, lest, the Commission would proceed as per the National Food Security Act.

Finally, the Member Secretary, Sri P. Kiran Kumar, conveyed his vote of thanks .
