The Karimnagar-based filigree items manufacturing unit, Silver Filigree of Karimnagar, has made 60 special gifts to be presented to Ivanka Trump, Prime minister Narendra Modi, and other dignitaries.
The gifts include replicas of iconic Charminar, weighing 4 kilograms and 2.5 feet in height.
Other articles include Kakatiya dynasty arch, Veena (traditional musical instrument), Peacock and Swan, along with several small items.
Loca artizans of “120 families for the last 2 months worked day and night to prepare these gifts. They are totally hand-made items.
This is an ancient craft, and we are happy that our work will be presented to esteemed guests. For centuries we have created filigree items for the Nawabs.”
The 400-year-old ancient art is still continuing in the Karimnagar district as dedicated artisans passed on the legacy to their next generation.
