Fake SBI Call Center, Police arrest 14 Members

Cyber Crime Cyberabad Police busted SBI Call Centre Racket in Uttam Nagar, Delhi arrested a gang of (14) members. They are involved in 14 cases in Cyberabad Commissionerate and 195 cases all over India. They pretended as SBI Bank employees and cheated citizens to the tune of crores of rupees.

The complainant holds two credit cards with SBI Bank. On 02-10-2021 he received a call from mobile number “+18601801290”, claiming to be from SBI Bank Credit card department for verification and to issue new cards as old cards are going to expire shortly.

Saying so, caller asked for his card details and asked to share OTP for activation of new Credit cards. Fraudsters have vast experience in the banking field and they have collected SBI credit card holders data, precisely Card details like Name, Mobile number and location from agents.

Citizens are requested

  • Not to believe in the calls claiming to be from SBI or any other bank.
  • Not to share OTP, Card details to anyone.
  • To change the PIN number soon after receiving the new Credit/Debit card following the given instructions.
  • Go through the instructions provided by bankers to claim the reward points, enhancing Credit limit or claiming insurance etc. and follow them to avoid being defrauded.
