The accused Naga Raju @ Karthikeya is having a passion for the police department since his college days. Previously he appeared for constable and SI examinations, but he failed to get a job in the police department. Later he was addicted to earning easy money by cheating innocent people. As such he hatched a plan to extort money from different places of Hyderabad by introducing him as SOT (Special Operation Team) Officer to execute his plan; he moves in heavily rushed bus stops, Airports, and public places during the afternoon and late-night hours and commits extortion by threatening innocent people.
The accused Naga Raju Raghu Varma @Karthik is a native of Chikkala Village of West Godavari Dist., of AP State. He completed schooling and His Intermediate at his native village and he completed degree (B.A.) at SRK Degree College at Bheemavaram in the year 2016 then he came down to Hyderabad. On 23.05.2023 sleuths of the SOT-Shamshabad zone, along with the Madhapur Police nabbed a notorious interstate Pseudo IPS/Colonel, Extortionist, and cheating an offender in suspicious circumstances at FAB OYO Hotel 100 Feet Road at Madhapur.
in March, he purchased the police uniform, badges, Walky-talky, Police flashlight etc. He came down to Hyderabad on 13-05-2023 and went to Madina and purchased handcuffs, Lathi, Leading chain, Pistol pouch, and other things related to the police department and hatched a plan for kidnapping a person named Prasad in Hyderabad for ransom of Rs.14,00,000/- extorted Rs.30,000/- initially and cheated in the guise of Inspector of Police on the request of Kumar, the the complainant in the present case.
