Many Congressmen raised eyebrows over the acceptance of the RSS invite by the former President of India and congressman Pranab Mukherjee. Former Railway Minister Jaffer Shareef questioned the intention of the former President in accepting the invitation of RSS and agreeing to travel to Nagpur the headquarters of RSS.
But Nithin Gadkari the Union Minister said that there should be no untouchability in politics. He also cited the example of Mahatma Gandhi addressing the RSS. Even Jayprakahs Naryan talked in the RSS meeting he said. This is good beginning he opined.
The Congress leaders, however, opined that it is for Mukherjee the senior man who was the President to think over the matter. It is reported that Pranab has accepted the invitation of the RSS. But there is a loud thinking in the BJP and also the RSS that the Bheeshma of the Congress might suggest and also say as to what the nation was thinking and how the RSS was behaving.
Pranab may say what is wrong and what is good for the nation also.
Pranabda will address the RSS people on the valedictory of their training session at Nagpur. RSS workers from all over India will be present there at the headquarters on June 7.
The political circles are full of discussions on this issue and also about Pranab leading the third front and trying to be the PM candidate against Modi.
But Jaffer Shareef said “It shocked us so we wrote, we asked him as to what prompted him, why is he suddenly going,” the former minister later said, explaining why he had written the letter.
“We thought he was maintaining ‘no-allegiance’ stance to any party, as it is after one becomes President,” he said.
