Come exams, the Temples are full. The students keep their hall ticket and pens at the feet of gods. Especially Ganeshas temple are very busy during the exams. Some other believe in Vibhuthi from babas. There are babas who give talismans and also threads to tie so that the students get lot of confidence while writing the exams.
Saraswati temples also are in great demand during the SSC exams. They get thread tied around the wrist to write the examples properly. But all these things are only beliefs. One has to get prepared first and then only all these external things and gods grace add to the confidence.
Now a temple in Gujarat’s Panchmahal district is advertising a special pen set that it promises will make students succeed in their exams. Leaflets in Gujarati mention a Hanuman sevak called Dushyant Bapuji who claims that the pen has supernatural abilities as it was obtained after conducting a Hanuman Saraswati Yagnya.
Although the price of the pens is high – Rs 1,900 – the leaflet assures full pay back in case the student happens to fail the exam. Interestingly, prospective customers are required to furnish the following items as pre-requisites: a mobile number, exam receipt, a photocopy of hall ticket and copy of school/college ID.
People on social media even went on to tweet about the unusual product. There are some temples where you can send in money and the pooja will be done in your name and the purohit will seek blessings from the god, so that you write the exams properly. No one knows if this is right or wrong, but people just believe this and India the belief works.
