Etela Rajendar the BJP MLA made sensational comments, saying that he would take on Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao in the Gajwel Assembly Constituency in the next election.
In an informal chat with media persons here on Saturday, the Bharatiya Janata Party MLA said that he had informed the party high command about his decision to contest against KCR.
“I have already started a serious groundwork to prepare for the next Assembly election in Gajwel. There is a need to defeat KCR and I am following the footsteps of BJP leader Suvendu Adhikari who defeated West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee during the last Assembly elections,” Etela Rajendar said.
His wife Januma may contest from Huzurabad. BJP is planning to give more seats to ladies this time and they are related to the big leaders like Bandaru Dattatreya, Kishan Reddy etc.
There are chances that some MP candidates may also take a chance as MLAs and then contest as MPs next year. Kishan Reddy the BJP chief first lost the election as an MLA and then won as an MP from Secunderabad.
