Etela Rajender the former minister opposing Rythu Bandhu has collected Lakhs from the Government. Etela has around 120 acres of agricultural lands.

The frustrated leader who has resigned from TRS opposed the extension of Rythu Bandhu to farmers and ridiculed that people are coming in cars and collecting the money. Interestingly Etela and his family members also have collected a lot from the Government under the Rythu Bandhu scheme.

Etela, his wife and son have agricultural lands and they have taken money under the Rythu Bandhu scheme. Since the 2018 Yasangi season, Rajender’s family have been beneficiaries of Rythu Bandhu and had availed it till the just-concluded 2020

Yasangi season. The amount was credited into the bank accounts of the three beneficiaries as per procedures for the scheme. While Rajender received Rs 59,900 for 2018 Yasangi season, Jamuna got Rs 1.72 lakh and Nithin Reddy Rs 35,500.

After the State government enhanced the Rythu Bandhu amount from Rs 5,000 in 2018 to Rs 6,000 per season in 2020, an amount of Rs 66,125 was availed by Rajender, Rs 2.15 lakh by Jamuna and Rs 44,375 by Nithin Reddy. For reasons unknown, Jamuna did not avail an amount of Rs 2.15 lakh only for rainy season of 2019.

Though several rich farmers including TRS leaders returned their benefit amount, Rajender failed to respond to Chandrashekhar Rao’s appeal. And for Rajender to now claim that he had opposed extending the benefit to big landlords only exposes his double standards.
