Emerging Information Technologies for Greater Transparency

The Center for Information Technology of Dr MCR HRD Institute of Telangana organized a high-profile National two day programme on “Big Data Analytics, Artificial Intelligence & Block Chain Technologies”, in collaboration with National Statistical Systems Training Academy, Ministry of Statistics & Program Implementation, Government of India (MoSPI, GoI) & C.R.Rao Advanced Institute of Mathematics, Statistics and Computer Science (AIMSCS).The programme was attended by 47 Senior Indian Statistical Service (ISS) Officers in the rank of Additional Director General and Deputy Director General from various key wings of the MoSPI, GoI .

Pravin Srivastava, ISS, Secretary & Chief Statistician of India, MoSPI, GoI, in his concluding remarks at the programme said that, while different departments of Government have jumped on the bandwagon of information technology, there is a pressing need to further multiply these efforts in order to ensure extensive use of such emerging technologies like Big Data Analytics, Artificial Intelligence & Block Chain in order to give a big boost to transparency in the working of all the wings of the Government.

“These prominent technologies will open innumerable pathways for enhanced efficiency in Government operations”, he stated and added that similar programmes will be conducted at regular intervals by MoSPI, GoI, so as to empower the officers in different wings of Government to use these technologies and thereby to improve the nature and quality of governance”, added Sri Pravin Srivastava.Jyotirmoy Poddar, ISS, Director General (Economic Statistics) & CSO, MoSPI, GoI said that importance of the emerging information technologies is growing leaps and bound and the acceptance of the same is felt in all sphere of life, including the Government. “These technologies are likely to become the backbone of citizen centric-governance”, he added.

B.P. Acharya, IAS, Special Chief Secretary, Govt. of Telangana & Director General, Dr MCR HRD Institute underlined the importance of Big Data Analytics, Artificial Intelligence & Block Chain Technologies in the all-round development of the economy.
