Emerald Mithai Shop in the lower tank bund at Indira Park fell in trouble with the food inspectors when the establishment failed to meet its required safety requirements.
It is owned by Vijay Ram who was an artist first and worked in an advertisement agency. He was duping the people in the name of nature and natural food.
There are allegations that he just sprays ghee on sweets and calls them ghee sweets. He tried to enter the TTD free food kitchen with his brand of foods, but the pilgrims rejected him out right.
Vijay Ram was supplying food to the lord Venkateshwara, but it was stopped by the EO recently. He is a big fraud they say.
GHMC food inspectors pulled a surprise raid on the sweet shop’s kitchen premises recently and were shocked to find a deeply unhygienic and stinky kitchen, with rats roaming around.
Apart from that, the inspectors also found expired milk, paneer and other dairy products in their fridge. The sweet shop was also found to be using way too many food colourings in their sweets.
The inspectors have seized the expired products, and will be taking them to a lab to get them check.
