Srinivas Reddy the TRS MLA who attended the meeting of the state election commissioner for the GHMC elections today opined that the election commission must take all the precautions to conduct the election in a safe manner.
The rules and regulations of the Corona must be observed during the nominations and also the electioneering process he said. The limit for the election expenditure of the candidates must be increased he suggested to the Commissioner.
He requested that the expenditure should be up to 5 lakhs in the GHMC limits and 2.5 lakhs outside the Municipal limits for a candidate. The polling booths should be large and wide Srinivas told the comissioner.
The physically challenged and the Covid must get special facilities for the polling he requested. Bharat the General secretary of the TRS said that the commission should look into the postings being done on the social media which could be misleading sometimes.
A special cell should be there to maintain a vigil on the social media he suggested. The social media should be controlled to a larger extent he opined.
On the other hand, there are indications that the GHMC elections could be in the month of December.
