The Government of India had launched the Ek Bharath Shreshta Bharath programme which is based on zoning of entire set of 29 States & 7 Union Territories which are to be interfaced with each other in a cyclical manner paving the path for integration of the Indian Union with a vision to strengthen understanding among the cultures of different states and to create closer engagements between different States & Districts in structured manner, aims to link the states & districts in an annual programme that connects people through exchange in areas of language, trade, culture, travel & tourism etc. and also to promote greater understanding and bonding between diverse cultures.

The activities have taken up with zeal under “Ek Bharath Shrestha Bharath” by the States of Telangana and Haryana stand No.1 in the country. In this context, the Telangana State has been paired with the State of Haryana and entered into Memorandum of Understanding on 31st October, 2016 in presence of Hon’ble Prime Minister of India. Further, many activities have been taken between the two states like a cultural exchange, the participation of parade contingents on ceremonial occasions, organizing familiarization tours etc.

The Department of Tourism, Government of Telangana had sent 12 artisans to Surajkund International Crafts Mela held from 1st to 15th February, 2017, the photographers (9 members) of Haryana State have visited various destinations of Telangana State from 24th to 30th April, 2017 under the said programme. Further, all the related departments are taking necessary action for the said programme.Department of Language & Culture have already identified prominent dances of Telangana and imparted training to the partnering state dances and also organized several cultural exchange programmes.A book titled “Nayasal” on contemporary Telangana poems were translated into Hindi & were released.
