The election commission has warned Mamata the West Bengal Chief Minister not to cast aspersions against the Election officials. It may be noted that the police and other agencies have clarified that there was no attack on the Chief Minister.

Mamata made allegations that she was attacked by 4 persons. But there was no evidence of whatsoever to prove the allegations of Mamata. The BJP dubbed it as a drama for gaining sympathy during the elections.

Now the Election Commission maintained the position that they would not like to keep on being put in the dock for alleged proximity to any political entity,” Deputy Election Commissioner in charge of West Bengal Sudeep Jain wrote to Banerjee.

Recently, the TMC had urged the panel to remove Jain as in charge of West Bengal and had questioned his neutrality. The commission had defended Jain by coming out with a press statement.

If the chief minister “persists in creating and attempting to perpetuate this myth for reasons best known to her, it is singularly unfortunate”, he said and added that it was only for her to adjudge why she was doing so.

But all said and done the poll surveys indicate that Mamata will win the elections. The BJP on the other hand is claiming that it is going to com to power in Bengal.
