The EC has given the bad news to KCR and also the farming community in Telangana. The Rythu Bandhu cannot be distributed by the TS government.
The Election Commission of India (ECI) issued orders on Monday directing the Telangana government to stop the disbursal of Rythu Bandhu funds after the BRS party leaders violated the Model Code of Conduct by making statements on the scheme.
The EC earlier allowed the State government to disburse the funds to farmers under Rythu Bandhu.
In the order, Avinash Kumar, Principal Secretary, ECI, said that Finance Minister T Harish Rao made statements on Rythu Bandhu during the election campaign which was widely covered by the media.
T Harish Rao, a star campaigner of the BRS party, violated the election code of conduct by announcing that Rythu Bandhu funds will be disbursed from November 28.
Following the poll code violation, the EC issued the orders preventing the state government from making payments to farmers under the scheme.
