There is no bird flu in the Telugu states the experts clarified. It is safe to eat Chicken and eggs properly boiled in the states of Telangana and Andhra Pradesh.

But the medical experts have said that it will not transmit to the humans from chicken and eggs. The Bird flu has also impacted the prices of chicken in the mandi.

Sellers are worried with the rumours going around about the disease. The poultry business was first hit by Corona and now with the Bird flu.

The rates have come down by 40-50 per cent in almost a week’s time. Earlier, a live chicken was sold at around Rs 100 per kg and now it is selling at Rs 50-60 per kg in the markets across the country.

Some traders in the market complained, saying that the government should keep a check on rumour-mongering over the disease as it is resulting in a loss of trade.

Amid the bird flu scare, the administration has dug a pit to dispose of chicken waste and dead chicken, the reason of death for which is not known.

The reality is that 90 per cent of chicken are fit to eat as they come up with medical certificates from the source itself. For others, we use our mechanism to check their health.

The Minister for Animal Husbandry Talasani Srinivas Yadav said that there was nothing to panik and that the department has collected over 1,000 samples from poultry farms across the State and sent them for testing at the Telangana State Veterinary Biological Research Institute.
