In an effort to identify India’s top young innovators, Atal Innovation Mission(AIM) organized a challenge called “Atal Tinkering Marathon” in 2017. Atal Tinkering Marathon is a 6-month long nationwide challenge across 6 thematic areas namely clean energy, water resources, waste management, Healthcare, smart-mobility and Agri- Technology.
The Atal Tinkering Lab students of Delhi public school, Nacharam, Hyderabad won the Atal Tinkering Marathon in the Agri-Technology category. The students Advaith Gowri Shetty, Manikanta Chavvakula, Manish Mallapur and the ATL In-charge Subash represented the state of Telangana and were felicitated with a memento by Mr. Alok Ohrie, Director, Dell India, Mr. Amitabh Kant, CEO, NITI Aayog and Mr. Ramanan, MD, Atal Innovation Mission at “NAYEE DISHAYEN NAYE NIRMAN”, an event to celebrate the spirit of young innovations in the country on 11th January 2019 at NITI Aayog.
The students shall be awarded a 10 month ‘ATL – Student Entrepreneurship Program’ in partnership with Dell and Learning Links Foundation. It is a first of its kind initiative where school students take their ATL innovations to the technology readiness level, manufacture some units and also test them in the market.
Earlier, the top 30 teams on the national level were selected for a 3 month long “ATL student Innovator program” in partnership with industry and start up incubators. The top 6 teams among the 30 were awarded UNICEF Young ATL Young Champions Award.
