Dos and donts for the villagers near forest areas :Tigers

The forest department has given a warning to the people staying near forests on the do and don’t against the Tigers. It may be recalled a Tiger is on the prowl and has been killing human being from time to time.

1.The villagers shall avoid leaving Strip Gaps/ pathways in agricultural fields. That means crops should be closely planted for 10 rows on the periphery without leaving any pathways.

2.The villagers shall avoid using routes passing through the forest areas.

3.Check gates placed by the forest department along the forest roads should not be objected.

4.A minimum 8 to 10 people shall go to agricultural fields for harvesting or other agricultural operations. In that group 1 person should be compulsorily deployed as Sentry, whose duty is to make sound by Drum Beating and Whistling.

5.The farmer shall stay on machan in agricultural field while guarding his crop.

6. The shepherds shall go in groups and shall not take the cattle deep inside the forest for grazing and restrict to ½ Km from the village.

7.The shepherds shall go for grazing after 9 AM and return by 4 PM.

8.Every villager going to the Field should have a protection stick with small Bell tied to it.

9.People working in the field and also shepherds shall wear Face mask on the Back side of the Head.

10.Village Protection committee should be formed with Sarpanch as Chair person and Forest Beat Officer as Convenor.

11.In case if any evidences of tiger are noticed they shall immediately inform to the Village Protection Committee and also the forest officials.

12. The Protection Committee shall purchase Whistles and Drums sufficient for the groups in the village.

13. Every day morning the villagers shall give information to Village Protection Committee about the field they are going, number of people who are going, Sentry to that group, Number of villagers should not go to Field with out approval of village protection Committee.
