Union Minister Santosh Gangwar stirred a hornets’ nest when he commented saying that in a big country like India there will be rapes and just one or two rapes should not be hyped. When the country and the Political system along with the ruling party were reeling in trouble with the rapes, he made a comment as if people must take it very easily.
Prime Minister Modi with great difficulty has brought in an ordinance to safeguard the minor girls by giving death sentence to the rapists. Now a Union minister says that one should not hype it.
The members of the media were puzzled over the utterances of a union minister over the issue which was shaking the Nation.One should not blow them out of proportion he opined. The opposition will naturally blow them out of proportion there is no doubt about this.
At the same time, he asserted that the Government was taking action against the incidents and the Government has come up with a new ordinance in giving death sentence to the rapists when it is in the case of minors.While the incidents have taken the country by a storm, the minister’s comments surprised many of them including the media.
Probably he meant that the opposition was giving a lot of hype to the incidents. But the way he narrated it in Hindi was bad.
