Doc case goes to CBI

The rape and murder case of the Doctor was assigned to the CBI as the police at the local level could not make any significant breakthrough so far.

The Central Bureau of Investigation or CBI has taken over the investigation into the chilling rape and murder of a 31-year-old doctor in Kolkata’s RG Kar Medical College and Hospital, hours after an order by the Calcutta High Court.

According to rules, the premier central investigation agency has re-registered the FIR of the Kolkata Police. Whenever the CBI takesover a case from any state police, it starts with the registration of the police FIR as its own case.

The doctors on the other hand have started working in some hospitals while some others are still on the strike as a protest against the murder, The Unions have expressed satisfaction that the case has been handed over to the CBI.

The central Government on the other hand is trying to resume all the services in the hospitals at the earliest possible.
