Positive or negative, the social media was busy with Duvvada Jagannadham(DJ) the new movie of Allu Arjun from the mega compound. With Baahubali taking a bull run internationally, all other movies here have taken a back step for some time to see that the dust settles. For some time the producer Dil Raju has put DJ on hold.
Baahubali has completed the Rs 1000 crore mark on 9000 screens and now other movies are trying to make some space for releasing . DJ is one of them.
DJ is touted to be a romantic action drama directed by Harish Shankar and has music by Devi Sri Prasad. Arjun originally plays an undercover cop on the film.
“It’s on a mission he goes undercover as a brahmin cook. The makers are planning to keep the khaki look a secret and only plan to unveil in the film. Apparently, Arjun will be sporting a special look,” in this movie, and added he will also shed some weight and look leaner for the role.
Arjun has had a superb run at the box office with his last two films, Sarrainodu (2016) and S/O Satyamurthy (2015), turning out to be huge hits. The film was originally planned to be released in May but for reasons unknown its release has been postponed to June.
Arjun’s fans are eagerly awaiting their favourite star’s new film. The teaser of the film, which was released on February 23, has been received very well (more than 13 million hits on Youtube). The teaser opens with a dhoti-clad Arjun, deep in a puja ritual, complete with his rudraksh, vibhuti, aarti, et al.
The next shot shows a happy guy riding a scooter laden with vegetables on a busy street. We are introduced to his lady love (Pooja Hegde) soon, but the romance is cut short when Arjun is shown threatening someone over the phone.
There was a media war between the Pawan Kalyan fans and Allu Arjun fans over the teaser of this movie. Some of them did not like the new get up and they made it open on social media.
