For now the MLAs who have changed the parties are safe we can say. The court has saved them .The Telangana High Court has overturned a previous order issued by a single judge on September 9, 2024.
The earlier order directed the Secretary of the Legislative Assembly to expedite the disqualification petitions filed by BRS MLAs Vivekananda and Padi Kaushik Reddy against three MLAs – Danam Nagender, Kadiam Srihari, and Tellam Venkat Rao, who had switched parties to the Congress.
This recent development comes from a Division Bench of the High Court, which has set aside the single judge’s orders. This means the Secretary is no longer bound by the September deadline to present the disqualification petitions to the Speaker and inform the court about the hearing schedule.
