DGP signs MOU with OU

Centre for Cyber Security and Cyber Law (CCSCL), Osmania University, Hyderabad and the Telangana State Police, Home Department of Government of Telangana entered into a Memorandum of Understanding at the office of the Director, General of Police, Lakdikapool, Hyderabad.

The MoU was signed by the Sri. M.Mahender Reddy, Director General Police of Telangana and Prof.Ch.Gopal Reddy, the Registrar, Osmania University. Prof.S.Ramachandram, Former Vice-Chancellor, OU, Prof.T.Krishna Rao, Officer on special Duty to VC, Prof.M.Kumar, Principal, University College of Engineering, OU & Executive Council Member, Prof.P.V.N. Prasad, Dean, Faculty of Engineering, OU, Prof. G.B.Reddy, Director, University Foreign Relations Office, OU, Prof. Sudha, Head, Department of Computer Science, UCE, OU, Prof.Shyamala, Director of CCSCL, Prof.Sriram Venkatesh, Controller of Examinations, OU & Nodal Officer RUSA 2.0 and other senior officials were present on the occasion on behalf of Osmania University. Mr.Jithender, Addl. Director General Police of Telangana, Mr. Srinath Reddy, Addl. Deputy Commissioner of Police and others were present.

Speaking on the occasion the DGP expressed his view that the MoU would be useful in capacity building in both the parties, detection of Cyber Crimes, updating the Knowledge of Cyber Laws and Cyber Security measures. He also advised the Osmania University to offer certain custom made courses meant for police personnel and issue certificates. The Osmania University officials explained the recent initiatives taken in the University, to offer technology based programmes and also research.
