The Congress party has decided not to project Rahul Gandhi as the Prime Ministerial candidate. P Chidambaram the senior leader from the Congress party said that defeating BJP in the country is the first point in the agenda of the Congress party. He said that the idea is to bring all the opposition parties together and fight against the BJP and PM Modi.
First, we must check that the opposition vote does not get divided and it would not benefit the BJP in the process. Chidambaram sounded as if they would not bother about the PMs post and the main agenda was to trounce the BJP and Modi.
He said that the regional parties have gained strength in the respective states. The vote bank for the Congress and also the BJP has come down in these states.
The local and regional parties play the key role he agreed. That was the reason they were not projecting Rahul for the PM post. The single largest party or the consensus candidate can become the PM Chidambaram opined.
This will be decided after the election results he added. When it comes to Telangana the leaders from the Congress are daydreaming of coming to power.
The TRS is all set to form the Government.
