The London courts will decide today if the fugitive Vijay Mallya should be sent to India for facing the trial. Vijay Mallya is wanted in Money laundering and fraud cases to the extent of around Rs 9000 crore.

The 62 years old Mallya argued that the case was politically motivated and recently Mallya has made a statement that he was ready to pay a hundred per cent to the banks.

A team of CBI officials from India have already landed in London and they would be present in the court during the hearing. Mallya has been staying in London since 2016, ever since the courts started legal proceeding against him.

The BJP Government led by Modi has drawn a lot of flak from the opposition that he was allowed to flee the country. Mallya was a BJP MP and that was the reason he was allowed to go out of the country, the opposition charged.

It has to be seen if he would be brought back to India.
