DCA surprise checks

Drugs Control Administration, Telangana officials, on credible information, raided premises of a quack Mohd Abdul Wajeed C/o Life Care First Aid Centre situated at Serilingampally Rangareddy district, who is claiming himself as a ‘Rural Medical Practitioner’ and detected unauthorized stocking of medicines for sale.

DCA officials seized 33 varieties of medicines including antibiotics, cough syrups, antacids, anti ulcer drugs, antihypertensive drugs etc. of total worth Rs. Twenty thousand during the raid carried out on 04th January, 2024.

On credible information, Drugs Control Administration officials of Serilingampally Zone, on 04th January, raided premises of a quack Mohd Abdul Wajeed C/o Life Care First Aid Centre situated at H.No. 10-5, Ground floor, Shop No.3, Vemukunta, Chandanagar, Serilingampally Rangareddy district, who is claiming himself as a ‘Rural Medical Practitioner’ and practising medicine without qualification at his clinic ‘Life Care First Aid Centre’.

During the raid, DCA officials detected 33 varieties of medicines found stocked at the premises without any drug licence. Thirty three varieties of medicines including antibiotics, cough syrups, antacids, anti ulcer drugs,

 antihypertensive drugs etc. are found stocked at the premises. DCA officials seized the stock of total worth Rs. Twenty thousand during the raid.

Smt. A. Shylaja Rani, Drugs Inspector, Serilingampally and Sri G. Ravi Kiran, Drugs Inspector, Rajendra Nagar and Smt. D. Swetha Bindu, Drugs Inspector, Gandipet are among the officers who carried out the raid.

DCA officers lifted the samples for analysis. Further investigation shall be carried out and action shall be taken as per the law against all the offenders.

Drugs Control Administration, Telangana has been constantly on the vigil and alert to detect unlicensed stocking and sale of medicines by quacks.

Stocking of drugsfor sale without a drug licence is punishable under Drugs and Cosmetics Act with an imprisonment up to five years.

Surprise checks are intensified on such unqualified persons who are carrying out stocking and sale of drugs without any drug licence.
