Union Minister for inforamtion and broadcasting Venkaiah Naidu said that the Alai Bhalai programme being done by the central Minister from Hyderabad Bandaru Dattatreya is a great function for unity in Diversity.

He was speaking at the exhibition grounds here where leaders from all the political parties were present. The event was held here on the occassin of Dasara by Bandaru Dattatreya where people from all walks of life come and hug each other apart from having the feast with all kinds of Telangana food and delicacies.

Venkaiah Naidu said that India will reach greater heights in the near future and no one should forget the past history he added. We must continue our tradition and should not hurt others sentiments he said. He complimented Dattatreya for doing this event every year. Venkaiah could not stay for long in the event as he was having back pain.

Minister for Home Nayani Narsimha Reddy, complimented Bandaru for bringing all the political parties together for the event. Alai Bhalai is nothing but sharing the love with hugging each other he said. Bandaru is now knows as Alai Bhali man and he also supported the cause of TS Nayani reminded.

The 12th edition of Alai-Bhalai, an annual event of expression of camaraderie among leaders across parties hosted by Union Labour Minister Bandaru Dattatreya to mark Dasara festivities, saw speaker after speaker showering praise on Mr. Dattatreya and exhorting him to continue the programme till Telangana achieved all-round progress and turned into Bangaru Telangana.

The leaders also said that the programme should by continued by Mr. Dattatreya as he was best suited for the job.

Folk artistes in costumes depicting mythological roles, bulls and their masters who show up in villages for Dasara and cultural performances formed part of the proceedings.

Kids also performed on the stage with the them of National unity.
The guests who took the dais were presented striped red scarf worn by herdsmen, the community to which Mr. Dattatreya belongs to.

and ambali a drink in small mud pots was served to the VIPs.
Replying to the felicitations, Mr. Dattatreya said he had launched the event in 2005 with the aim to provide a platform to echo the sentiment of separate Telangana.
