Chilkur Balaji Temple is popular as Visa Balaji. IT people love this Swamy as he gives them what they ask for.Yes a Visa to America. Go to Chilkur Balaji and make a parikrama of 11 rounds and you get the Visa. That is the belief and they say he has that Mahima. On has to enter the small Temple by bending at the entrance and idol is equally small, but has a lot of power. Situated on the other side of Gandipet lake has people coming from far of places.
The head priest soundarrajan says there is no Hundi at the temple so no offerings are taken here. This is a different kind of tradition and as all other temples have Hundi and they collect money.

But contrary to the claims of Soundrarajan the archakas are openly taking money in front of Balaji. When you come a book is sold for Rs 100 in the name of Balaji. The pilgrims are offering money to archakas and they are happily collecting them. So Hundi or no Hundi money is being collected here in the sanctum sanctorum in front of the presiding deity. But all roads leading to Chilkuru are Kachcha.

There is no proper transport facility to the temple. All the roads are dark without any electricity. It is is very difficult to drive also without proper light and with bad roads. KCR the Chief Minister who is developing Yadadri must also look into the affairs of Chilkur and develop Chilkur Balaji Temple in a big way. All roads leading to Balaji Temple must have street lights. Transport facilities must also be improved.
