Re-releasing old films is the trend these days. The youth are coming to the theatres in a big way for the old classics. Mani Ratnam classic Thalapathi is gearing up for a grand re-release in cinemas across Tamil Nadu and Karnataka.
The film will be hitting theaters on December 12, 2024, to coincide with Rajinikanth’s 74th birthday. It was earlier reported that Rajini and Mani Ratnam might reunite once again, and an official announcement is expected to be out on Rajini’s birthday.
Starring Shobana, Arvind Swamy, Amrish Puri, Bhanu Priya, Srividya,and Geetha in pivotal roles, Thalapathi has a timeless soundtrack composed by the legendary Ilayaraaja. The story is from Mahabharata about Karna and Arjuna.
Rajini is Karna in this movie. Mammooty is Duryodhana. The songs were a super duper hit.
