Cyclone Pehthai caused a lot of devastation in Andhra. There is no power in many areas. Trees have been uprooted and there is crop loss also. Several trains have been cancelled. In some areas, the RTC services have been reinstated. The communication lines are getting repaired and the district collectors are on the job. Arrangements are being made to release water from the Prakasam barrage it is reported. people in the low lying areas have been cautioned.
The East Godavari is the worst affected district. There is heavy rain in Vijayawada and some other district due to phethai. There is drizzle in some districts of Telangana also. There are rains in Visakhapatnam also.But the intensity of Phethai is calming down in a phased manner. Many roads in the state have been cleared of the trees. The power and communication systems are being restored. The state of Andhra is out of danger and people have been evacuated from the low lying areas.
