Motto of the CybHER – III as Cyber Congress is ‘Creating as safe cyber space for adolescent children through robust training session and practical activities conducted in urban and rural settings of Telangana’.

The programme is being continued for further ten months. The Director General of Police, Telangana is the chief guest for CybHER – III as Cyber Congress inaugural programme. The programme attend by Smt. Swati Lakra IPS, Addl. DGP, WSW, Smt. B. Sumathi IPS, Dy. IGP, Women Safety Wing.

The chief guest of inaugural programme the Director General of Police, Telangana Sri. M. Mahendar Reddy IPS reiterated that the children adolescent, Youth, women shall be aware of Cyber Crimes, other Cyber related laws. And also said that no one shall fall pray of this cyber trap and young students shall play leadership as cyber ambassadors.

Due to the spike in cyber crimes during the lockdown, Women Safety Wing, Telangana Police conducted a Youngster Conscious Survey on how to be safe online and launched the month-long CybHER awareness campaign in July 2020 to make cyberspace safe for women and children that reached over 50 lakh people.

In addition to the month-long campaign, Women Safety Wing, Telangana Police conducted a massive online awareness session on cyber safety during March 2021 to 3.75 lakh school children in Telangana. During these sessions, the students asked multiple questions on cyber safety which prompted the need for a long-term project called Cyber Congress.

To reiterate the message of online safety, Women Safety Wing, Telangana Police launched the Cyber Congress initiative which selects students from each school with a teacher where the team is empowered to promote the positive uses of the internet. The team then gets connected to experts online for regular sessions which in turn is shared with the students by the local cyber ambassadors. The Cyber Congress initiative will be held across 33 districts of Telangana targeting 50 schools from each district. Overall, the project aims to enable 1,650 Teachers and 3,300 children.

The 10-month Cyber Congress initiative consists of detailed online sessions facilitated by cyber security expert Rakshit Tandon. The students who will be attending the sessions will be selected from every class within 1,650 Government Schools across in all 33 districts of Telangana for a 10-month period. The Cyber Congress initiative will focus on training selected students and teachers as Cyber Ambassadors who will be trained on all aspects of cyber safety and will in turn educate everyone in their school and community circles on how to be safe from cyber crimes.
