Cyberabad Police meet with Bars, Restaurants, Pubs, Malls, Wine shops, Hotel managements

In view of the increasing number of road accidents involving Drunk Driving, a coordination meeting was held today at the Cyberabad Police Commissionerate involving the management of all the Bars, Restaurants, Pubs, Malls, Wine shops, Function Halls and Hotels.

Cyberabad, CP, Sri. V.C. Sajjanar, IPS., spoke to the representatives from the management of all such establishments and urged them to join hands with Cyberabad Police for the Prevention of drunk & driving. He also asked them to understand the seriousness of the issue which is claiming hundreds of innocent lives on the roads every year.

The managements were told to participate actively in the drive against drunk driving menace by taking certain preventive measures at their premises.

Also, they were advised to deploy staff specifically to verify, identify and prevent their customers from driving under the influence of alcohol.

The management must also take up proactive measures to educate, alert and help their customers to travel safely back home by arranging alternative transportation facilities. They were also asked to put up signages at all Entry, Exit, Parking and sitting areas warning the customers about the legal consequences of drunk driving.

It was also decided that all establishments must display educational messages prominently on their premises and also play audio and video messages frequently to alert their customers.

All the managements were asked to declare “Prevention of Drunk Driving” as their policy and take up all necessary measures accordingly.

The managements were also told to install CCTV Surveillance cameras covering all the public activity places on their premises. They were also informed to seek police help by dialling 100 in cases if any person quarrels (or) create problems for stopping them from Drunk driving.

All the managements agreed to the guidelines issued by Cyberabad Police to prevent drunk driving in view of the safety of the public on the roads.
