The Women Safety Wing, Telangana State Police in collaboration with the Legal Aid Centre, Symbiosis Law School, Hyderabad, Save the Children and Lead Life Foundation launched a week- long awareness program on March 1st.
The program marks a week-long celebration of International Women’s Day 2021 with an aim to dedicate a day towards increasing awareness to educational institutions to achieve the safety of women and children in the cyberspace as well. On 4th March, 2021 a workshop on ‘Cyber Volunteer Training Program’ was conducted by Mr. Rakshit Tandon who is a renowned cyber safety expert, for the training of participants, to endow them with practical experience and knowledge and the tools they would need to become alert users of the cyberspace.
The session was started off by Smt B. Sumathi, IPS introducing the aim of CybHer and Cyber Volunteerism of Women Safety Wing to the speakers and the participants for the session. Smt. Swati Lakra, IPS also opined on the topic by stating that “You are not always the victim, among you could also be the perpetrators” while also urging parents and children to report the offences. Mrs. Sumathi Badgula, IPS urged citizens to make use of the various social media platforms and SHE Team WhatsApp number to register complaints and not hesitate.
