Chief Secretary Santhi Kumari directed to identify of suitable lands belonging to the irrigation department and plant saplings on a large scale during the ensuing Haritha Haaram programme.
A video conference was held with the District Collectors on Haritha Haaram, Palle Pragati, Kanti Velugu, Woman’s Health, Prevention of fire accidents in summer, the conduct of class 10 exams, house plots etc. at BRKR today.
On the occasion, CS said that large-scale planting of saplings was done under the Haritha Haaram in vacant places of the state. Now suitable places under the irrigation projects should be identified during Haritha Haram 2023-24 which is going to start soon. A plan should be prepared for Bruhath Prakruthi Vanaalu in suitable forest lands. The Collectors were also advised to prepare the Haritha Haaram action plan by the end of April.
Collectors were asked to take proper precautions to avoid severe hailstorms and fire accidents during the current summer season. She said that the prevention of fire accidents should not be left only to the fire department and all government departments and people should participate. Referring to the two recent fire accidents in Hyderabad, she emphasised that people should be made aware of the precautionary measures to be taken immediately in case of fire accidents. The need to conduct a fire safety audit on the places where there is a possibility of fire was also highlighted.
As around 4.94 lakh students are appearing for the Class Xth board exams to be held from April 4th to 13th Chief Secretary ordered to make elaborate arrangements for the conduct of these exams. She noted that instead of 11 papers in the past, there will be only six papers for these exams which will start at 9.30 am. The police department should work in coordination with other departments in conducting the examinations properly.
So far 86.50 lakh people have undergone eye examinations and reading glasses have been distributed to 14.23 lakh people as part of the Kanti Velugu programme. Distribution of prescription glasses to 10.73 lakh people is going on, she said. The Woman’s Health programme launched on the occasion of International Women’s Day is getting good response and directed the Collectors to visit Kanti Velugu and Woman Health camps in the district and take measures in the best way.
She instructed the Collectors to pay special attention to the GO 58, 59, 76, and 118 which benefit the poor. She stated that 1039 acres of land has been identified in the state in accordance with the instructions of the Chief Minister to allot residential land to the poor and requested to send full reports in this regard.
