Chief Secretary Somesh Kumar IAS held a high level meeting at BRKR Bhavan today with officials and reviewed the arrangements being made for Ganesh immersion scheduled in September 2022. He instructed the officials to encourage people to use clay Ganesh idols. As the Honourable High Court has given clear instructions banning the usage of plaster of paris, synthetic colours and pollutant chemicals, the people and the makers of these idols have to be sensitised. The High Court has also directed not to immerse these plaster of paris idols either in tank Bund or in other tanks in the city, he added.
Chief Secretary asked the officials to ask all committee members also to go for similar kind of clay idols. CS also directed to encourage those who make clay idols. He stated that the directions of the honourable Supreme Court and High Court should be scrupulously adhered to.
DGP Mahender Reddy , SPl CS MA&UD Arvind Kumar, CPs Hyderabad and Rachakonda C V Anand and Mahesh Bhagawat, Addl. DG Jitender, GHMC Commissioner Lokesh Kumar, PCB Secretary Neetu Prasad and other senior officials attended the meeting.
