CS Joshi briefs scribes from Africa

The Chief Secretary Dr.S.K.Joshi has informed that we are looking forward for better relations with African countries in the field of Health, Urban Development, Agriculture, Industries, Food Processing sectors.

A Delegation of 23 Journalists, Editors from Francophone countries in Africa met Chief Secretary Dr.S.K.Joshi today at Secretariat. He briefed to the delegates that Telangana State is the youngest and 29th State in India formed on 2nd June, 2014. The State is developing faster with a growth rate of 17% to 18% where as the National growth rate is around 8% – 9%.

He Said that, the Government is focusing on mainly to provide best Education to the vulnerable sections of the society. In next 5-10 years there will be drastic transformation in the field of education in the State. After the formation of Telangana State the Maternity Mortality Rate (MMR) is reduced to largest extent through KCR Kits. Institutional deliveries also increased from 18 % to 30 % in Government Hospitals.

The Government has taken up massive plantation through “Telangana Ku Haritha Haram”, Mission Kakatiya (Protection and revival of Water Bodies), Rythu Bheema, Rythu Bandhu and constructing Major Irrigation Projects at faster pace in the State.

Taxation , Preparation of Budget, allocation of funds, legislation, acts formation of Government, Schemes, Educational activities were discussed during the meeting. Principal Secretary, Finance Sri K.Rama Krishna Rao informed that IT , Industry, Pharma, Defence, Banking, Hospital, Services Sectors are playing major role in the economic development of the state.

Arvind Kumar, Commissioner, Information and Public Relations has informed that, as a part of India’s commitments under the 3rd India –Africa Summit (IAFS-III) under Development Cooperation Projects, External Publicity and Public Diplomacy Division is organizing a Familiarization visit for Journalists/Editors from Francophone countries in Africa from 19 to 25 August,2018. They are visiting Hyderabad from 22 -25 August,2018.
